daily action, morning pages: mon, tues, wed. so last night i got home late. took my shower and afterwards still felt compelled to do yoga. so i did. i may be in a shitty place emotionally but i am fucking taking care of myself that’s for sure. the yoga makes me feel really good. i have slacked off the past couple of months but i really need it now and am thankful that my spirit agrees and my body and mind are in harmony as well. for once i am not procrastinating or being lazy. some poses make tears leak out of my eyes but i always feel calm, focused, centered, grounded. even in my pain. and underneath all of that is an overwhelming sense of my own strength. and that is the biggest gift of all.
what i learned in the hospital August 17, 2007
when i was in the hospital one of the things we did was this thing called community. i really loved it too. we would gather in the morning and go around the group and we would have to say how we felt physically and emotionally and then set a goal for the day. at the end of the day we would gather once more and say what our high and low was for the day, check off our goal (if we completed it) and then say what we were thankful for. once i left the hospital amethyst and i continued to do community with each other. but then we started slacking off. we still do it just not consistently. we might do it in the morning but not that night or vice versa. rarely now do we actually get to check in morning and night. but it really does help to do this daily check-in so it will be part of my blog. i find that setting the daily goal to be very effective. it forces me to think of something to accomplish and then mean it. i will not set a goal for the day if i know i won’t do it that day. and at the end of the day i really do feel a sense of accomplishment because if i did nothing else, i did manage that one thing. and i set hard ones most of the time. unpleasant tasks that are necessary and must get done like calling the bank about an error or getting my medical records. and sometimes they are fun and simple like have fun or get rest or play with amethyst. it just depends on each day and what we need.
